Longtime Kiss 108/Jocks Exit

WXKS-FM (Kiss 108)/Boston PD Cadillac Jack announced late yesterday that longtime midday host Ed McMann and afternoon air talent Artie The One-Man Party have departed the Clear Channel CHR/Pop. McMann has been with Kiss since the early 1980s and was a staple station air talent; Artie was hired by then-PD John Ivey, now at KIIS/Los Angeles, in 1996. It was not known at press time who will be replacing each of the air personalities.

Max Tollkoff Takes WFNX OM/PD Post
R&R Alternative Editor Max Tolkoff has been tapped as the new OM/PD of Alternative WFNX/Boston. The station has been without a PD since the departure of Cruze in September 2003. This will mark the return of Tolkoff to the station he programmed from 1989-94. He will be bicoastal, operating from both Boston and Los Angeles. Tolkoff told R&R, "Clearly I'm deranged, but the challenge of returning WFNX to its rightful position as a highly influential and respected Alternative outlet is too great to ignore. It breaks my heart to leave the R&R family, but maybe one day I can return and be the batty old uncle in the attic." His last day with R&R is set for Oct. 8, and he'll start at WFNX shortly afterward. R&R is interviewing potential candidates for his replacement.
